Surf Dweller 509 Ocean Front

This spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath beach front condo is new to our program. This property boasts the laergest 2 bedroom condos on Okaloosa Island and every unit in this complex has a 30 foot private balcony that faces the Gulf of Mexico directly. The private pool area is located inside the wall of the property. There is a kiddie pool available for the small children. This property also has a tennis court.

  We were pleased with the condo. It was very comfortable. We did have to air out the condo when we first arrived as it had a peculiar smell but the airing out took care of that. The beds were comfortable and everything worked. I was supprised it did not provide the beach chairs.

  Overall, we had a fantastic time. The room was very spacious and clean and most importantly on the beach. I do have two complaints. First off, We had some very rude old man make a huge ordeal about us parking the boat even though our host gave us an extra parking pass for said reason, yet we had to pay and park it down the street. And My other complaint comes from us being locked out of our condo the first night there because the keypad battery died so I had to call the after hours number to get someone to come out and open door, but not before charging me $50 which I was told is not refundable! Just to be clear, yes you read that correctly.. The keypad battery died which had us locked out the condo we paid for only to have to pay $50 because of a bad battery in the keypad which is completely out of my control. I understand these things happen, but why is it my bill to pay. I basically paid for the condos maintenance problem and was Informed when we checked out that I wasn’t getting refunded the $50. The keypad was fixed the next morning, but with the amount of money we paid to stay there and then charge me an additional $50 simply because of poor maintenance is unacceptable in my opinion. So for now, I’ll assume that professional courtesy Is practiced and I’ll be refunded the $50 fee. Thanks in advance.

  This was a work trip that i was able to bring my children down for as well. The condo we stayed in was very nice, we had a tremendous visit. The main set of elevators was closed to maintenance the entire time and the pool being on the road side of the condo were my only two complaints.

  We had a great week! We really liked the unit 509 other then that it was a bit dated, the wifi was not working well, the TV in the living room was not working great (station for CUBS game flickered in and out the whole time), and the dryer broke. Wayne who came and fixed the dryer was great. He came when he said he would and fixed it quickly.
  The unit had every thing we expected and more and we would come back and stay again.

  This is a nice condo with a balcony facing the Gulf. You have a view of the sun rise and sunset. What could be better. The condo on the 5th floor, is well equipped and comfortable. The decor and furniture is dated this does not take away from enjoying your stay.
  Although the carpet was quite dirty when we arrived, the realtor did get it cleaned for us. It should have been cleaned before we arrived.
  This condo is also not pet friendly so I had to leave my new kitten home for the month.
  This is a great building to stay in. I have had better condos.

  I have stayed at the Surf Dweller many times over the past 12 years. I have also stayed at other condos in the area. By far each stay at the Surf Dweller was very pleasent. I know what to expect and each room i have had there has exceeded the other condos i have stayed in. 509 was extremely clean, well decorated and the kitchen had everything. Definately felt more like a vacation home than a hotel. Parking and the luggage/grocery carts were very good. Easy access to the beach. The only complaint i had was the pillows on the master bed were extremely skimpy and worn out. They should be replaced with comfortable ones. That would add a tremendous amount of pleasure as you snooze in peace and tranquility of the ocean side room.

Alicia J Hollis, Realtor provides excellent customer service and is dedicated to her customers. On this trip the condo's door knob malfunctioned and my family was locked in; and I was locked out. We notified her office and she had a locksmith come over to repair it right away. I will call her next time I am planning a trip to Ft. Walton Beach, Fl.
