  We always have a great experience with Alicia Hollis (nearly 25 years). The staff is friendly, helpful and always willing to make your stay comfortable. As far as the unit we stayed in, EM 424, it’s in dire need of updating but it was clean. The shower was amazing! It’s a good location being close to the pool and beach and the free beach service is a bonus. One thing to note about that unit and I was very disappointed about was...no hangers in the closet!!! At least there was some drawer space but no hangers was a first! We also were there at a very busy time during fall breaks (which we won’t do again) and had a hard time sitting on the patio a couple nights due to the strong smell of weed! It even came in through our bathroom vents a couple times. Lesson learned, We should’ve complained about the weed smell so it could be investigated as recreational is not legal in Florida. There are a lot of nicer, remodeled units in the El Matador for the same money. Still a great visit to our favorite vacation spot to relax!

  Location was great. Loved having a security guard. Overall the condo was good. Needs updates and a few things fixed. The patio furniture had something to be desired. The chairs, if you want to call them that, were made of pvc piping and one was broke.

  This is a wonderful location. Both the complex and the unit are in beautiful spot right on the beach front.
  
  The unit itself was extremely outdated. Furniture at the beach can be funky, but the bed was downright uncomfortable.
  
  The only other avoidable issue was that the ice maker wasn't working our entire stay. I had to remember to run to the Tom Thumb for ice the day before so we could have ice on the beach. That seems like something that could have been checked prior to check-in.
  
  The unit was well cleaned and I'd definitely book it again, but would really like an update bed and ice maker. I can deal with funky furniture. I even find it charming.

    We have been trying to update this unit, but, unfortunately we cannot the vendors to do the job fast, they are not available, or you cannot find the stuff to put in the condo. We will notify the owner about the ice-maker and get it fixed immediately, and we wished you would have let us know and i would have called the appliance guy.   The property is very clean with a great view overlooking the pool and ocean. It’s a short walk to the beach. We chose this property bc it’s the last one on the strip before miles off undeveloped beach and were able to avoid crowds. Austin with the Realtor Company was a gem to talk and very helpful. Loved it.

  We had a great time at El Matador. The condo was clean and well kept. Rental staff was friendly. Only issue was the wifi didn't work which bummed out 11 year old out. We plan on going back next year.

    So happy that your family had a wonderful experience with unit 424 at the El Matador, a one bdrm on the 2nd floor. Those units are very spacious and large with a great large balcony too, so that you can go and sit out there and enjoy your time over looking the grounds and the pool and beach. Hope that we can accommodate you again next year when you can come back in this beautiful town of Fort Walton Beach.
