  The condo was excellent, plenty of room, amazing view, full kitchen, perfect distance from beach! We were also very close to Eglin Airforce base, we were able to see a few really awesome aircraft throughout the day from the balcony, but if you are inside the condo you can rarely hear the planes at all. The best part is that you are close to everything, but far enough away to avoid crowds!

  Just what we needed for a month. Condo could have been a bit more updated but bathroom tub very nice. Most everything we needed was in condo. During heavy rain windows leaked a bit. Bedroom smelled a bit musty probably cause of leaks and carpet in bedroom. Great view and we enjoyed and had a great time!

  Overall pretty good, little chincy on the TP for the cost and a 7 day stay, living room ceiling fan doesn’t work, AC doesn’t come out very much in the bedroom, so get ready to be kinda warm when sleeping.

  I recently moved to Fort Walton Beach and was looking for short term accommodations while establishing myself in the area. I was lucky enough to find a unit in building 3! Gulf view facing west. The unit was very clean and updated. I watched the sunset from the balcony every evening I could. There is nothing more relaxing and refreshing than to wake up to the sound and sight of the ocean with the wall of windows in the bedroom. The staff at Alicia Hollis Realty were also so very nice and polite. I highly recommend them.

Outlet behind dresser in bedroom was falling out of the wall which could be a fire hazard. Very minimal dishes & amenities. No paper towels. No dishwashing liquid,etc. Room was just in need of updating & some repairs. Elevators were very slow, not & noisy.

    Hi Robin, Thanks so much for your review. Some of the outlets are on wall switches and wont work if not turned on, but please call us at the office for help with these issues so we can take care of them for you while you are here. Housekeeping does leave two dishwasher packets with the kitchen towels but no liquid and unfortunately we do not furnish paper towels as part of the rental. Don't have any control of the elevators and El Matador was built in the 70's and everything is done to be sure that they are safe. Hope to see you again next year!

  The room was nice with a great view of the gulf and pool. The air was nice and cool in every room but the bathroom. We brought a fan and that helped. We were not given any instructions about the location of the pools and the exercise room. When I booked the room online it stated there was a washer and I assumed it was in the room but it is not. You had to pay to wash and dry. There wasn’t a change machine so we had to get change elsewhere. The guard wasn’t always at the shack when we would come back in the evenings after dinner. The pool was always nice and clean. I would stay here again.

    Thanks for your review for the condo at the El Matador, the main pool was right in front of your condo, and anything else on the property would be the Security guard shack to get you in the whirlpool. In front of our package we gave you the code of the exercise room, and every floor at the El Matador has a small laundry. Yes, you do have to pay to use the washer/dryer on that property. The property is the most popular property on this island, and i am so glad that you enjoyed that wonderful view of the balcony and the beautiful gulf pool.

  Unit was exactly as described. We have stayed in the area many times, but not at El M. We enjoy traveling with our dog, but opted to stay her because of location. Although pets are not allowed by renters, there were several dogs on property by owners. Not complaining. As per one reviewer, no paper products other than the start up ones available. It's not a hotel and this is normal for a condo. We always carry supplies with us. There is a Publix and Walmart near by. All bedding and kitchen supplies were adequate. I do carry the basic items i might need to prepare meals for breakfast and lunch. There are great restaurants nearby. AJ's is a favorite. Making reservation and payment very easy. Alicia and staff were very professional. Check in and out, easy. One last word about the El M. property. It is secure and well maintained. Thanks to everyone for a great week. Hope to return.

It was nice, but the carpet in the master was gross and in main room, a few things were broken, toilet over flowed the first day, no shelves in “pantry.” However the el matador us amazing, i got married there and had my reception there 4 years ago and wouldnt trade it! I also loved the colors the condo was painted!

  * There was a lack of communication. Prior to our visit, I messaged and called several times with no response.
  
  * I called the day of the visit, was not advised that pick up would be at a different location. All the other times I have booked through HomeAway, prior to the visit, information has been provided on check in and such, not this time.
  
  * The lock in the bathroom and the sliding glass door does not work.
  
  * The AC air flow in the bedroom is non-existent. Due to the sun setting on that side of the building, the bedroom gets really hot and could not feel the AC hardly at all while in the room.
  
  * The bed is extra firm, which is not a bad thing if you prefer a firmer mattress, I do not.
  
  * The TV was awesome! Loved having the option to watch Netflix and Amazon
  
  * The location to the beach is great and the views were great!
  
  We did have a great time on the beach and trying different places.

  Had not been to the El Mat for about 10 yrs after going for 12 straight years. Buildings, grounds and pools still maintained well. Our unit, 365, didn't appear to have been updated for some time. Guess all you need is a place to lay your head. Elevators as old as the hills and move very slow but they were that way 10 years ago. Don't lock yourself out of your unit, 50 bucks to get back in.

  We have stayed at El Matador before. Love the location and all the amenities. The unit was clean, quiet, and has a great view. I would recommend replacing/updating kitchen plates and utensils. They were a little worn. Other than that great place for a vacation.

  We stayed 3 nights for our anniversary and loved it. Great location minutes from shopping and away from the crowds. Condo was very spacious and the view was incredible. Very relaxing. Elevators were slow but there was no wait on the stairs! Would definitely stay again.

  Very nice unit. New living room furniture a plus. The TV is antiquated and needs to be replaced by a flat screen HD TV ( 42 inch TV or larger ). A new dining room set would be nice. Nice view and comfortable unit. Hoping to stay in unit for 3 weeks in 2016.

  Our stay at El Madator was a wonderful relaxing experience. We were treated with respect from Alicia Hollis and she was more than considerate of our husband and I have had difficulty in the past reserving a condo for one month however Alicia's reality business was more than happy to assist us without complaints or hassle.

  The condo was overall quite nice. It's obvious that the owners are in the process of upgrading. The bathroom has been redone and the living room furniture is very new (and quite comfy. A+ to the recliner!). The kitchen could use a some updating and it feels a bit sparse. But it was sufficient for our needs. My family has used Alicia Hollis Realty to rent condos at the El Matador for close to 30 years and they are always wonderful.

  As always, Alicia's staff were wonderful and friendly. However, the unit could use a serious facelift. It needs to be painted and generally spruced up. But El Matador is the best place to stay in Northeast Florida and we will continue to stay there!!

  That was our first visit to Florida so we were not sure what to expect but our trip far surpassed what we thought it would be. The rental unit was right on the beach, had beautiful sunrise and sunsets over the ocean. The condo had everything we needed so we had the option to stay there or go out for meals. It was like a home away from home. We plan on visiting again sometime.
